WELCOME!
Thank you for visiting NAPA NEWS, the news site of the Native American Preservation Association of Georgia. This site is dedicated to promoting culture awareness by presenting issues of interest to Native Americans and anyone interested in the “Indian Way.” We hope your visit here will be both enlightening and thought provoking, and that you will visit again!
This site will probably never be “politically correct”, maybe sometimes borderline militant, and no where near squeaky clean, but it will be informative and will cover a wide variety of subjects. We hope we don’t offend anyone, but if we do, we hope it at least gives you pause to think about what is being presented.
It's the year 2004, Leonard Peltier is still in prison, treaties with Indian Nations are still not being honored by the U.S. government - the list is endless, as is time itself. All comes to those who wait, right? But how long do we as a people have to wait? It’s been 512 years since the Great Sorrow began; how long is long enough? The struggle continues, and there’s change in the wind! It doesn’t matter if you’re white, red, yellow, or black (the four sacred colors), we are all warriors in this struggle. As Leonard writes “we can each be an army of one” and in our solidarity we will be heard and we will make a difference!
